
General Livestock Rules & Regulations
1. Entries of livestock will be received from noon up until 8 p.m. of entry day unless delays are necessitated by trucking, at which time the entry books will positively close.
2. All animals must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor at the time of making entry.
3. There will be no stall fees charged unless otherwise stated.
4. Exhibitors of livestock must furnish their own transportation to and from the fair.
5. Exhibitors of livestock must reserve stalls or pens by contacting the Extension Office 30 days prior to the opening of the Fair. They shall be kept clean and well- bedded by exhibitor. Exhibitors must clean out stalls of all bedding and waste at ..........the time of checkout on Sunday, August 13th.
6. No animal may be entered in more than one class or be entitled to more than one premium, except in sweepstakes or collection of animals, and in club classes.
7. 4-H animals are not eligible for open class except group classes and where class is not covered in 4-H.
8. Exhibitors of livestock making entries in purebred classes must furnish superintendent of the department of entry with registry papers or proof of registry.
9. Bedding will be provided for livestock, but exhibitors will be required to furnish all feeds.
10. Exhibitors of livestock are responsible for the care of their own animals while on exhibition on the fairgrounds. The Iron County Fair Association will not be responsible for losses sustained as a result of fire or other injuries.
11. After arrival at the fairgrounds, all entries are under the supervision of the fair officials, livestock superintendents, etc., and no animals will be allowed to leave the grounds without special permission. The livestock superintendents have the right to call out any or all animals for parades or other special purposes. Random drug testing may be implemented by fair officials in consultation with fair veterinarian during suspected cases of fraudulent or illegal animal drug use. Fraudulent or illegal animal drug use will be cause for penalties up to and including dismissal from fair participation.
12. Tennis shoes and sandals are not recommended as safe footwear when showing animals.
13. All equine shall test negative to an official test for equine infectious anemia (Coggins test) within calendar year prior to fair with papers proving such provided to the designated fair veterinarian, horse superintendent or fair superintendent upon arrival.

Out—of—State Cattle and Bison —
1. Cattle imported into Michigan for exhibition shall be accompanied by an official interstate health
certificate or official certificate of veterinary inspection prepared by an accredited veterinarian from the state of origin.
2. Cattle imported into Michigan for exhibition shall have USDA approved official identification.
Cattle — Must be identified with official USDA ear tag.
•For Michigan cattle, this is a RFID ear tag.
*Livestock means those species of animals used for human food and fiber or those species of animals used for service to humans. Livestock includes but is not limited to cattle, sheep, new world camelids (llamas, alpacas, vicunas, and guanacos), goats, bison, captive cervidae, ratites (cassowaries, kiwis, ostriches, and emus), swine, equine, poultry, aquaculture, and rabbits. Livestock does not include dogs and cats.
The livestock superintendent and the fair officials, acting through them, have the right to determine whether or not an animal may compete in any class. In judging exhibits in any department, the following points under each entry will be considered: Type, uniformity, characteristics of breed, showmanship and cleanliness, condition, utility and conformity to class and entry requirements. Entries of livestock will be received from noon to 8 p.m. on entry day. Exhibitors are encouraged to use a showstick in exhibition.
